Description
The teas of Nuwara Eliya are cultivated at the highest elevations in Sri Lanka, often above 1,800 meters (6,000 feet), earning them the reputation of being ‘high-grown’. Located in the central highlands, this region is blessed with a cool, crisp climate, diffused sunlight, and regular mists that together create ideal conditions for producing some of the finest teas in the world. Before tea became the principal crop, the region’s temperate climate and rich soil supported vegetable and flower cultivation. The slow-growing tea bushes at this altitude yield tender leaves that produce a light, bright liquor with a subtle floral aroma and brisk character. The BOPF (Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings) grade from Nuwara Eliya is particularly prized for its clarity, smoothness, and refined taste – making it a distinctly exclusive offering among Ceylon teas.
Authentic, Artisanal Tea – Our tea is handpicked and made in the traditional way – a method that is unchanged for centuries to ensure the taste, goodness and quality in Ceylon Valley Tea.
